It all started with a dream…

Affectionately known by many as Ty, Tynesha Rashaun Lewis was born on May 8, 1979 in her beloved hometown of Macclesfield . NC. The younger of two children of Charles and Deborah Lewis, Ty always stood out as one who did things her way.  While under the shadow of her oldest brother Mandrake, she decided to stake a name for herself at the age of 5 by engaging in the sport of basketball.  Not only did this successful attempt of grasping some attention for her success, but it also put her on a platform of achievement and excellence in the world of women’s sports as well as in academics.

Tynesha flourished in high school as the student body president, graduating in the top 10% of her class with a 4.2 GPA, and other accolades including National Honor Society, Pepsi Scholar-Athlete, MVP for four consecutive years, Principal Leadership award, and many more.  She continued to develop and thrive with an outstanding collegiate career.  As the # 1 ranked female high school basketball player in the state of N.C. from 1995-1997, she was heavily recruited by every major college in the U.S.  Her heart led her to blossom and mature under the beloved and astute eye of Coach Kay Yow at N.C. State University for four years.

She continued to excel in the classroom while in college as well as on the court, helping to lead the Lady Wolf pack to their first Final Four appearance her freshman year as a starting guarding 1998.  Tynesha was named the most outstanding Female Athlete, and the 1st player in N.C. State University history to record a triple-double.  During her four years in college Ty also received many community service awards and recognition. And she served as president of the Mu Omicron, chapter of The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  Tynesha earned her BA in Chemistry and BS in Biology, with a Masters in Business Administration focused in Marketing, and recently finished her second Masters in Education and Curriculum with Technology Integration. 

Tynesha officially retired from the WNBA in January 2007.  She currently serves as head coach at THE Elizabeth City State University. She continues to live out her destiny of teaching and reaching young people across the world through her words of wisdom, encouragement, and motivation at a level that meets people where they are.  Itsdoable, Inc. a non-profit founded in 2003 encompasses all of her ministry arms which include TyLew Camps, Motivational Speaking, and a Leadership Mentoring Program.  

Preacher, leader, and evangelist.  Without question, she is a breathtakingly beautiful Woman of God with an elegant stature that commands authority and exudes quiet confidence. Indeed Her words captivate the hardest to reach.
